{"id":3326,"date":"2025-07-18T14:21:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T12:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/admin.infectnet.org\/?p=3326"},"modified":"2025-08-28T15:46:45","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T13:46:45","slug":"dr-dr-ulrike-lange-uni-marburg-provirale-power-plays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infectnet.org\/en\/archive\/3326","title":{"rendered":"Dr Dr Ulrike Lange @Marburg University: Proviral Power Plays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Prof Dr Eva Herker<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the rotating Infect-Net lecture series, <a href=\"https:\/\/infectnet.org\/en\/web\/mitglied.php\/?id=119\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PD Dr Dr <strong>Ulrike Lange<\/strong><\/a> from the Leibniz Institute of Virology (LIV) in Hamburg visited <a href=\"https:\/\/infectnet.org\/en\/web\/mitglied.php\/?id=173\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof Dr <strong>Eva Herker<\/strong><\/a> at the Institute of Virology in Marburg on 17 July 2025 to present her work at the institute\u2019s seminar series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her lecture Ulrike Lange described exciting data on the impact of exogenous retroviruses like HIV as well as endogenous retroviruses on host cell genome activity. These findings might contribute to our understanding on long-term pathologies in people living with HIV that are on suppressive HIV therapy.
