Margo Diricks provides virtual training for genome analysis of non-tuberculosis mycobacteria<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Non-tuberculosis mycobacteria (NTM)<\/strong> are an emerging public health concern, particularly for vulnerable populations, and the infections they cause are often difficult to treat. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) provides a powerful tool for accurate NTM species identification, transmission analysis, and resistance profiling, all of which are essential for appropriate treatment and infection control. This webinar will introduce and provide hands-on training in the use of WGS-based bioinformatic tools for NTM data analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audience<\/strong>: This training is designed primarily for researchers, bioinformaticians, clinicians, public health professionals, PhDs, bachelor\/master students (e.g. molecular biology or infection biology), however it is open for everyone with an interest in NTM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No prior<\/strong> bioinformatic knowledge required. Both web-based as well as command-line tools will be covered<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning objective<\/strong>: Participants will get an introduction to NTM and gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience with bioinformatic tools for NTM species and subspecies identification, typing, transmission analysis, plasmid and resistance profiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants can access the training for free, thanks to EU funding, and organisation through ECDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
