Members of our network have the option of publishing a personal profile on our website. The content of these profiles is provided by the members themselves and may include the following information in particular:

• Links to external websites (e.g. institutes, research projects)

The publication of this data is voluntary within the framework of membership and serves the purpose of highlighting expertise and promoting networking within the field of infection research.

The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (implementation of membership) and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Members may modify the content of their profile at any time or cease publication in whole or in part.

On our website, we publish editorial content and blog posts written by members of the network and supervised by authorised editorial staff.

The following personal data in particular will be processed as part of the publication:

• Name of the author
• Institutional affiliation or function, if applicable
• The content provided by the author

The processing is carried out for the purposes of the association's work, scientific communication and the external representation of the network.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (participation in the association's work) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in public relations work).

We use the WordPress plugin WPFormsfor our contact, membership and other online forms. The data transmitted via the forms is encrypted using SSL/TLS and processed exclusively for the purpose of handling the respective enquiry.

The form data will not be passed on to third parties unless this is necessary for the fulfilment of the contract or due to legal requirements.

Our website embeds videos from YouTube , a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The integration takes place in what is known as extended data protection mode. Only when you actively play a video will a connection to YouTube's servers be established. In doing so, personal data (e.g. IP address) may be transmitted to YouTube.

Our website contains links to our profiles on social networks such as Bluesky, LinkedIn and Instagram. These are purely links, not social media plugins.
