Many women underestimate how crucial personal contacts are in science and research. A strong network is interdisciplinary, collaborative and open – and, in the best case scenario, extends far beyond science to include journalists, politicians and business leaders. With our network meetings, we create spaces where our members can build, strengthen and expand their own networks in a targeted manner. Get to know us and visit one of our annual meetings!
Our annual general meeting is a platform for all female infection researchers – from basic research to application and clinical practice, for young talents as well as experienced experts. At the same time, we create valuable interfaces with politics, business and the media. Each year, a different member takes on the organisation of the meeting. In this way, we highlight the diversity of our locations, strengthen regional networks and enable many researchers to easily access our events.
BMBF project phase – Innovative Women in Focus
During the project funding period by the BMBF and BMFTR from 2022 to 2025, we were given the resources to organise a total of six network meetings at various locations throughout Germany. These meetings were important for us to better understand the needs of women in infection research and to develop strategies to strengthen their visibility and networking. The reports on the individual meetings will give you a first impression of our community. But the best thing to do is to come to one of our next meetings yourself.
