Expertisen

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from India and a Master’s degree in Infection and Immunobiology from the UK. I was subsequently awarded the prestigious Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) Fellowship for Early-Stage Researchers, which enabled me to pursue my PhD in neuroimmunology across Germany and Switzerland. Since 2017, I have worked as a postdoctoral scientist investigating neuroinflammatory diseases, with a particular focus on multiple sclerosis (MS).

    There are no stupid questions!

    Forschung

Over the past nine years, my research has explored several aspects of MS, including the relationship between diet and the gut–brain axis, the role of the enteric nervous system, and the contribution of B cells to disease development and progression.
For anyone wondering what a neuroimmunologist is doing here, I believe that a B cell does what a B cell does—regardless of whether it finds its way into the brain of someone with MS or someone with viral encephalitis. ???? More scientifically speaking, insights gained from models of infectious neuroinflammation may inform research into autoimmune neuroinflammation—and vice versa—potentially facilitating the development of novel therapies for neuroinflammatory disorders such as MS.

    Sonstiges

Having studied and worked in several countries across two continents, I have benefited from the influence and support of inspiring women throughout my scientific career. I believe this platform will give me further opportunities to connect with women scientists whom I can learn from and look up to, while also allowing me to share my own knowledge and experience.
